Mermaid editor FAQ

Is this Mermaid editor free?

Yes — completely free, with no account and no limits. Open the editor, paste your Mermaid code, and render as many diagrams as you like.

Does it work on mobile?

It is built mobile-first. Pinch to zoom, drag to pan, and double-tap to focus on a node. The code editor has a syntax shortcut bar sized for thumbs, and exports save straight to your photo library on iOS.

Is my diagram code uploaded to a server?

No. Rendering, export, and history all happen locally in your browser. Share links encode the diagram inside the URL itself, so nothing is stored on our servers either.

Can I export PNG or SVG files?

Yes. Export PNG at 1x, 2x, or 3x scale with a white or transparent background, or download the SVG vector file. On iOS the export opens the system share sheet so you can save directly to Photos.

How is this different from mermaid.live?

This editor is designed for phones first: gesture navigation, a thumb-friendly syntax bar, canvas backgrounds for readability, and a library of tutorials and templates. Like mermaid.live, rendering is instant and local.

Does it work offline?

Yes — install it to your home screen as a PWA and the editor keeps working offline. Diagrams you have edited before stay available from local history.

Which diagram types are supported?

Flowchart, sequence, class, state, ER, gantt, pie, mindmap, timeline, user journey, git graph, and quadrant charts — the twelve most-used Mermaid diagram types.

How do share links work?

The share button compresses your code into the URL itself. Anyone opening the link sees the diagram instantly — no account needed — and can open it in the editor to make their own copy.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no tracking of your diagrams. Recent diagrams are saved in your browser only.

Mermaid works where you already write

Mermaid is the diagrams-as-code standard supported across developer tools. The same syntax you edit here renders in all of these:
